Design Team visit Dismaland

Disneyland, the ‘happiest place on earth’ is a mecca for the young and young at heart. In stark contrast, street artist Banksy has recently opened a broken-mirror counterpart in Weston-super-Mare called Dismaland. With distorted imagery, convoluted sculptures and a staff who maintain an atmosphere without laughter or smiles, the park carries a dismal aesthetic that delivers a dark and twisted take on the world. Banksy’s ‘bemusement park’ is his biggest project yet, and a showcase of 58 handpicked artists such as Damien Hirst, shining a harsh light on consumerism and the world around us.
This week our Design Team went to see it for themselves and took along their camera. Here’s what they saw.
