Design Team highlights: Salone del Mobile 2016
Colour combinations
There have been interesting colour combinations showcased across the event, from emerald green, mustard yellow and red, to white, black, grey and soft pink.
Copper, concrete and marble
These delicate copper and rose gold accessories are the handiwork of Georg Jensen.
We spotted plenty of materials, such as copper, stone, concrete, Carrara marble and granite, contrasted against bold colour.

Galactic and futuristic interiors
Diesel Living by Seletti captured the current trend for futurism and galactic interiors.
Punched mesh, undulating waves and grids provided an interesting take on shadow play, light and reflection.
Artistic ceramics
We have spotted some beautiful ceramics this week, including faded colour, a grey glaze, which gives the illusion of metal, and crystal/glass-like qualities.
Guaxs showcased stunning, intricate detail, structure and translucent effects.
The garments showcased by Anouk van de Sande were inspirational. Optical illusions are created through the use of translucent textiles alongside geometric prints, all in vibrant hues.
Colourful pattern
Swarovski placed emphasis on reflection, intricate detailing and the layering of coloured pattern. Crystal is paired with Carrara and rose coloured marbles.
This week our Design Team has been soaking up inspiration at Milan’s design week 2016. Now in its 55th year, the Salone del Mobile event (12-17 April 2016) attracts designers and brands from across the globe, providing a giant hub of creativity and innovation.
This year, exhibitors from a range of sectors including fashion, art and interior design, showcased the upcoming trends we can expect to see in the coming year. Here we share a selection of our favourite picks from the week so far.
