Design Team: Clerkenwell Design Week 2016

Trends
Carrara marble was noted throughout the exhibitions and showrooms, mainly for use on tabletops.
Tom Dixon showcased a large collection at The Church, capturing stunning shapes, form and reflection through lighting and accessories.
The mixing of materials was prominent throughout, with copper spotted frequently.
Graypants showcased a stunning series of lighting, with beautiful shape and form.


Pattern
Geometrics were key for an addition of pattern to furniture, fabrics and flooring.

Colour
Throughout the show, key colour palettes were mainly muted with highlights of putty pink and mustard yellow – as spotted at NYCxDESIGN.
Grey tones were seen in abundance from furniture and flooring to lighting.
One particular company that stood out for its use of colour was Reason Season Time – showcasing a range of weathered furniture that sported colourful paint.



Clerkenwell Design Week has become synonymous with creativity. Every year thousands of designers, architects and artists flock to London’s EC1 to experience the latest offerings from some of the world’s most important trend leaders.
Now in its seventh year the event, which took place between 24and 26 May 2016, showcased a number of UK and international brands and companies through various showrooms, events, exhibitions and installations dotted around the area.
Our Design Team spent the week soaking up the atmosphere, whilst tracking the trends from some of the best in the industry.
