Design Team: UK Construction Week 2016
This week, we’ve been busy exhibiting at UK Construction Week’s Surface & Materials Show (18-20 October), on both a dedicated Johnson Tiles stand, and as part of the Material Lab Hub.

Geometric patterns and shapes were seen on various surfaces and furniture pieces – continuing the trend spotted across all major design shows this year.

Lighting was also prominent throughout, mainly utilising glass.

Neutral and muted tones were key across interiors, with blue being the colour of choice for props and accessories – in keeping with the Dulux Colour of the Year for 2017, ‘Denim Drift’.
Again, wood remained a key material across a large portion of the stands.

Structures and reliefs were key, embellished with patterns escalating from subtle, to the more bold and daring.

Wood was spotted across the show, with finishes ranging from natural to highly distressed.
