Johnson Tiles supports Valentine Clays with new state-of-the-art HQ
It’s been another momentous week for Stoke-on-Trent, with the unveiling of the new Valentine Clays Ltd ceramics centre in Fenton.
The building’s exterior features horizontal bands of four different clay colours set in random patterns, to reflect the nature of the raw material. In addition, a specially commissioned two-metre high ‘Firehand’ ceramic art installation, outside the new building, forms a stunning centrepiece of the site.
The sculpture was part of Gladstone 2013 - fired up! a year-long community project involving over 100 people of all ages celebrating the Potteries and its people.
Our Specialist Products Business Manager, Harry Foster, celebrated the opening of the new headquarters, which features an innovative warehouse/distribution facility, offices, workshops and gallery space, all on the historic ceramics site.
Tying into the continued resurgence of the ceramics industry, the £3million development features our Zeppelin floor tile product.
Harry joined Valentine Clays’ Sales and Marketing Director, Hannah Ault, and Judge of The Great Pottery Throw Down, Keith Brymer-Jones, for the unveiling event, which will be followed by a launch evening opened by Director of London’s V&A Museum, Dr Tristram Hunt.
