Emmeline Pankhurst mosaic adorns Manchester’s Affleck’s Palace
As well as being an interior design staple, our iconic Prismatics range presents an endless amount of creative opportunities to artists.
Renowned Manchester mosaic artist, Mark Kennedy, who has crafted intricate works for the city’s famous Affleck’s Palace over the years, favours our Prismatics range for its bold palette of colours.
From portraits of Frank Sidebottom, Joy Division’s Ian Curtis and Morrissey to the legendary logos of Top of the Pops and film posters for Kes and The Godfather – his most recent mosaic is of Manchester-born Suffragette, Emmeline Pankhurst, which now joins his gallery of works on Tib Street.
The basis for the design was an image by street artist Mancsy, which Mark then transformed with our red, black and white tiles.
With 2018 marking the centenary of womens' right to vote, it’s a poignant dedication.
